How many Jews in Alexandria?

Over sixty years ago, the number was hovering around 50,000. A story in today's Ha'aretz puts the number closer to 23. Not enough people for a minyan (quorum required to recite from the Torah), Jewish life in Alexandria remains on life-support.
But the Elijah Synagogue is as gorgeous as ever...
